Prayer Life = Life Prayer 3
"Give us this day our daily bread." Matthew 6:11
"Give Us" - this is a supplication from us to God. God is the Provider and we are the needy ones. He is the source from whom flows the basic necessities of our life.
"This Day" - the day of our need for God and His provisions is today. Yesterday and tomorrow are equally out of our reach. We have no need for a revisionist history or a futuristic crystal ball. Today is the day of our need.
"Our Daily Bread" - God's provision is the necessary staple of both our physical and spiritual lives. The Word of God and the bread we consume at the table are here woven together.
In what areas of my life do I need to ask My Father in heaven to meet my daily needs? When will be the "right time" for me to do what I am called by God to do? Am I hungry for God's Word?
