"Do Not Lie About Your Sin"
1 John 1:5-10
GOD is the Standard of Light- "GOD is light and in Him is no darkness at all." (1:5)
GOD does not play, sympathize, or cooperate with our darkness, our sin.
Thank GOD for being The Pure Light.
Lies People Say to Accommodate Their Sin:
Secret Darkness Lies: IF we say that we have a great walk with the Lord while we are really walking in darkness. (1:6) (BAD)
Self Deception Lies: IF we say that our favorite sins-our lifestyle sins are not sinful. We say it repeatedly until we believe it. (1:8) (WORSE)
Scripture Denying Lies: IF we say that our ways are not sinful or dark at all, rather that GOD and HIS Word are wrong. (1:10) (WORST)
Being Honest with GOD about Our Sin (1:7,9):
If we walk in the light as He is in the light:
Fellowship with one another
Jesus' blood cleanses us from all sin
If we confess our sins:
He forgives us our sins
He cleanses all our unrighteousness
CCC=EVERYONE IS WELCOME-BUT-WE DO NOT LIE ABOUT SIN!
